The goal of this project is to develop the first podcast on control theory, which will be called “inControl”. The project is guided by the following broad objectives: (i) to attract new audiences to control theory, unconstrained by the format demands of traditional media; (ii) to create an environment where to discuss control-theoretic research with both experts and outsiders; (iii) to raise awareness on the role of control theory and its applications for society as a whole; (iv) to increase social media presence of control theory on major social media platforms.

Description:
The goal of this project is to develop the first podcast on control theory, which will be called “inControl”. The project is guided by the following broad objectives: (i) to attract new audiences to control theory, unconstrained by the format demands of traditional media; (ii) to create an environment where to discuss control-theoretic research with both experts and outsiders; (iii) to raise awareness on the role of control theory and its applications for society as a whole; (iv) to increase social media presence of control theory on major social media platforms.

For whom:
"inControl" is broadly designed for the control community and for general audiences with an interest in scientific matters, regardless of background or training. The podcast is envisioned to act as a new bonding agent for the control community. The main benefits foreseen by the project include: (i) maximizing outreach and engagement with the general public on social media; (ii) establishing a new platform to directly interact with hard-to-reach audiences; (iii) providing a new opportunity to disseminate effectively state-of-the-art-research findings; (iv) increasing the influence of control theory in public discourse and decision-making; (v) producing new data and statistics on audiences with an interest in control theory; (vi) support other IFAC activities like “Girls in Control” and the Industry Committee.
